As an Application Technologist II, you will support the Prepared Foods Application Team in accomplishing assigned commercial briefs by preparing several savory applications. Requirements

  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft 365 products.
  • Strong tasting skills with the ability to effectively describe flavor profiles and provide direction to flavorists for modifications.
  • Basic understanding of the most common flavor reactions/interactions in food products.
  • Basic knowledge of multiple savory applications and production processes, including shelf stable, frozen, hot fill, and thermal processing.
  • Basic knowledge of FDA regulations, food safety, and allergens.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science with 2–3 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)
  • Master's degree in Food Science with 0–1 years of related experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare flavored food products for customer projects, presentations, and research projects.
  • Select flavors based on specified requirements such as customer needs, regulatory guidelines, legislation, and cost.
  • Participate in flavor evaluations, screenings, and provide feedback for selection, creation, or revisions to support briefs and showcasing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with our teams (Flavor & Creation, Flavor Portfolio, Culinary, Sales, Sensory, Marketing, Regulatory, Procurement) and assist customers as needed.
  • Maintain and order laboratory supplies, including grocery shopping when required.
  • Manage flavor data and recipe documentation for food products.
  • Maintain accurate formulations and recipes for assigned briefs.
  • Track and update flavor performance data by evaluating finished products and capturing profiles.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment following EH&S policies.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workspace within the savory applications lab and pilot lab.
