In dairy we cover the full spectrum of frozen and fluid products: from dairy drinks, yogurt and ice cream to instant and chilled desserts, cream cheese, and spreads. Historically, in main dairy products such as yogurt and ice cream, practically every country has its own leading brands. Reporting to the Technical Manager - Dairy, you will be onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio. You will contribute to the successful development of customer-focused food products by proposing flavor and formulation solutions. These solutions will respond to defined project needs and consumer insights. Apply technical expertise and analytical reasoning to enhance product performance and flavor selection, ensuring accuracy in data management. Support product scale-up and pilot processing activities through the operation of pilot plant and processing equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a food applications lab, pilot plant, production, or related area
  • Understanding of most food ingredients when used in application
  • Experience with the most common flavor reactions/interactions in common food products

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine flavored food prototypes that meet internal and customer project goals, ensuring product quality and delivery.
  • Participate in flavor and sensory evaluations, interpret feedback to recommend formulation improvements, and ensure understanding of desired outcomes.
  • Contribute to customer-facing activities such as tasting sessions and technical discussions, explaining product characteristics, and supporting decision collaboratively.
  • Operate pilot plant and processing equipment, including systems such as shear mixer, homogenizer and OMVE equipment, to support product development, process validation, and customer projects.
  • Translate customer feedback and market trends into technical adjustments that enhance sensory experience and product differentiation.
  • Prepare samples and presentations for customer visits, explaining sensory and technical aspects.
  • Collaborate with peers to exchange insights on consumer preferences and sensory innovation, contributing to a data-informed culture of improvement.
  • Tasting skills and ability to describe the flavor profile of the product and provide direction to flavorists for flavor modifications
  • Participate in safety training sessions and follow established EH&S guidelines in daily activities.
  • Demonstrate practical understanding of dairy processing and pilot production environments.
