About The Position

Susquehanna is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join its Proprietary Trading Services team. The role supports the firm’s core businesses and provides broad-based experience across multiple technologies. It involves quickly assessing, triaging, and resolving technical issues affecting the environment, and developing tools for monitoring, real-time trade analysis, and job management. The engineer collaborates with development and engineering staff across the firm and technology organization, with opportunities to build technical expertise and project management skills while working with evolving technologies.

The role supports and maintains Windows and Linux server processes and internally developed application services, and monitors and supports a highly distributed production system. The engineer works with application teams and other stakeholders to understand their needs and develop practical solutions. They also use AI tools to automate operational work and accelerate incident response, and independently identify and implement process improvements for business and technical users.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in an operations, systems administration, or application support-related role.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux and Windows environments and a solid understanding of multitiered systems.
• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash to automate tasks, build tooling, and simplify repetitive work.
• Working familiarity with Kafka, MariaDB, MongoDB, InfluxDB, and ELK sufficient to support and troubleshoot production environments.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• A BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical major is preferred.

• Previous experience within a financial services or trading environment is a plus.
