Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote. If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge and mastery of ITIL practices
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex data and deriving actionable insights
  • Skills in solving strategic and high-impact process issues
  • Managing large and strategic process improvement projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field
  • 4+ years of technical application support work experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Site Reliability Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software architects to integrate reliability engineering into the development process
  • Lead resolution of complex and high-impact incidents
  • Perform deep-dive investigations into systemic issues and develop long-term solutions
  • Optimize failover and redundancy strategies to minimize downtime
  • Develop SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for critical services and ensure they are met
  • Develop frameworks and tools to reduce manual intervention in operations
  • Mentor junior and intermediate ASE’s, providing guidance on best practices
  • Lead technical discussions and contribute to decision-making processes
  • Work closely with development teams to integrate Embedded Horizontal Application Support practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Engage with product management to align reliability goals with business objectives
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure that reliability improvements do not compromise security
  • Performs other duties as required
