About The Position

The Information Technology (IT) Application Specialist will provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, and support of systems throughout the credit union. The Application Specialist will be uniquely aligned in the organization to know, ascertain, or discover current and future business needs, and work individually and with teams to propose ideas and create solutions that meet the needs of our internal customers. The position will help meet those needs through applied skills such as planning and executing computing, networking, and application projects. In coordination with the Business Analyst, this role will document and analyze both user and technical knowledge to predict the impact projects and changes have on the organization. They will support and troubleshoot software while working with both end users and vendors. This person must be equally service and process focused, goal oriented, self-disciplined, and highly motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks as needed. This position is hybrid, and you will be able to work from the branch office and your home office.

  • Pass the pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Three to five years of experience in Information Technology, Innovation, or comparable role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT or related field or equivalent level of knowledge or experience required; recognized certifications in applicable disciplines are a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and network-based applications.

Responsibilities

  • Be a primary technical resource in all user applications
  • Be educated and proficient in use and configurations of automations.
  • Review and analyze application upgrades, enhancements, and release notes to communicate essential information to stakeholders.
  • Gather data and analyze business and user needs in consultation with both Business Analysts and end users.
  • Analyzing complex business problems and assessing how current or future applications may solve these problems
  • Research opportunities to optimize systems and processes
  • Improve applications by studying current practices, designing modifications, researching best practices, and thoroughly testing
  • Work directly with end users and vendors to support and troubleshoot our applications
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; write requirements documents, procedures, and S.O.P.s
  • Provide support for regulatory and compliance activities
  • Provide project management support as a resource who can view a project from an unbiased perspective
  • Obtain and coordinate resources to ensure task or project success
  • Act as a liaison between developers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and completion of tasks
  • Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures and keep detailed systems documentation
  • Provide end-user reference material by writing and maintaining user documentation
  • Provide level 2 help desk support
  • Prioritize and manage incident response requests
  • Work directly with the Learning & Development team to develop end user training.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to IT Help Desk
  • Provide scheduled after-hours support on a rotational basis to users and team members
  • Utilize application knowledge to own, research, and consult on help desk incidents
  • Follow Processes and procedures established to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Complete required annual BSA training to ensure you understand your responsibilities that apply to BSA, including: Understanding of BHCCU’s policies and procedures, as well as all rules and regulations which pertain to BSA.
