About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for an Application Security Engineer. This is a 12-month contract position with a hybrid work model (3 days onsite/2 days remote) in Charlotte, NC. The role involves championing AppSec-by-design, securing AI/LLM applications, integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines, operationalizing AI adversarial testing, building security KPIs and dashboards, and enabling engineering teams through training and workshops. The engineer will also act as a liaison between Security and Engineering, driving governance and enterprise security standards adoption.

Requirements

Experience in Application Security (with enablement or CoP experience)
Hands-on in AI/LLM security (prompt injection, RAG, guardrails)
Strong Python automation skills (security testing, adversarial probes)
Expertise in secure SDLC, CI/CD security, and threat modeling
Experience with SAST, DAST, SCA & ServiceNow AVR
Proven ability to mentor developers and influence engineering teams
Must be able to be engaged on a W-2 basis

Responsibilities

Champion AppSec-by-design across decentralized engineering teams
Secure AI/LLM applications (prompt injection, data leakage, adversarial testing)
Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, DAST, SCA, AVR flows)
Operationalize AI adversarial testing & define Golden Test Suites
Build security KPIs, dashboards & compliance tracking
Enable teams via training, playbooks, threat modeling & workshops
Act as the bridge between Security & Engineering
Drive governance, risk tracking, and enterprise security standards adoption
