About The Position

The Application Packaging Engineer-Senior supports the SEC ISS contract by engineering reliable, secure, and scalable software packaging and distribution services across the SEC endpoint environment. This role designs, packages, tests, and deploys enterprise applications for laptops, desktops, virtual endpoints, and mobile-enabled operations using approved remote deployment tooling. The position ensures application delivery aligns with SEC security policies, zero-trust enforcement objectives, and federal compliance requirements. The engineer also provides senior technical leadership for complex packaging issues, user acceptance testing (UAT), preproduction validation, and continuous improvement of endpoint software delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust.
  • 8+ years of experience packaging and distributing software applications within enterprise end-user computing environments.
  • Must have experience utilizing remote deployment tools for large-scale software delivery and maintenance.
  • Experience designing, packaging, testing, and deploying enterprise applications with strong focus on compatibility, reliability, and security compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise application packages using tools such as Microsoft SCCM/MECM, AdminStudio, and other approved remote deployment platforms.
  • Package and distribute enterprise software within end-user computing environments using approved remote deployment tools.
  • Package, deploy, and maintain desktop application portfolios to support refresh cycles, base image changes, policy updates, and mission-driven software adoption.
  • Implement and maintain packaging automation to improve deployment speed, repeatability, and quality.
  • Validate package functionality and compatibility before production deployment across supported endpoint configurations.
  • Execute structured packaging tests, including UAT support, and resolve defects to support reliable enterprise deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installer failures, dependency conflicts, and deployment errors through root-cause analysis.
  • Document validation outcomes and remediation actions to support consistent, efficient software delivery.
  • Ensure all packaged applications and deployment methods meet SEC policy, federal security standards, and contract compliance requirements.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and POA&M-related software actions by coordinating secure updates and package revisions.
  • Maintain SOPs, packaging documentation, and deployment records to support audit readiness and knowledge continuity.
  • Help enforce standardized endpoint configuration and software deployment baselines in coordination with SEC support processes.
  • Provide senior-level guidance and escalation support for complex enterprise packaging and distribution issues.
  • Collaborate with service desk, endpoint engineering, and infrastructure teams to align with incident, change, and release management workflows.
  • Support remote software delivery and management capabilities to ensure users can be served regardless of location.
  • Contribute operational metrics and reporting on deployment success, compliance status, and service quality.
