About The Position

The HVS Application Engineer is responsible and accountable for the WEG HVS negotiation process from inception of the RFQ to negotiation close out. This role requires effective communication with Field Sales, Customer(s), and factories, demonstrating a strong understanding of the application and OEMs. The engineer will develop industry experience through various means, including periodicals, internet research, conference participation, and site visits. They will review requests for quotations, lead and own the quotation/opportunity process, and compile accurate quotations for WEG's offerings. The position also involves adhering to minimum pricing guidelines, identifying opportunities for alternate pricing, and accurately receiving and reviewing Purchase Orders as needed. Additionally, the role includes generating order entry material, organizing all quotation/order documentation, and assisting the Project Coordinator/Manager technically or commercially as needed.

Requirements

Proven capabilities in the Electric Machines industry in roles related to Application Engineering
Technical experience and Knowledge of Electrical machines and their applications
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as Outlook
1 to 3 years’ experience as Application Engineer in Electric Machines industry or relevant business experience.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Communicate with Field Sales, Customer(s), and factories effectively
Demonstrates an understanding of the application, the OEMs, customer visits, etc.
Develop industry experience (periodicals, internet research, conference participation, site visits, etc.).
Reviews request for quotations (specifications, emails, phone calls, etc.)
Lead and takes ownership of the quotation/opportunity by requesting feedback from Sales or directly from customers, when appropriate.
Identify project/customer details vital for determining quotation strategy
Compile an accurate quotation to customers of WEG’s offering
Ability to follow minimum pricing guidelines as established by management
Ability to identify opportunities to management when alternate pricing is needed
Accurately receive and review Purchase Order (as needed)
Generate order entry material
Organize all quotation/order documentation electronically and hard copies (if needed)
Assist Project Coordinator / Manager technically or commercially as needed
