About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled Application Engineer to join our growing team in Amesbury, Massachusetts. This role involves providing engineered solutions and technical and project management support in the application, design, and selection of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment for climate control, dehumidification, volatile organic compound, and carbon capture applications. The position also includes project management for commercial desiccant dehumidification projects from inception to shipment, and providing application and product support to key customers, Regional Sales Managers, and representatives. The engineer will gain a comprehension of customer design requirements by reviewing specifications, drawings, and customer interfaces to develop designed solutions and equipment selections. This role requires the use of Munters software programs (Genesys, MRC, WebDH, Impact) for equipment and system selection, optimizing equipment value and performance, and preparing cost estimates. The Application Engineer will also define equipment/project scope, prepare turnover documentation for engineering and production, and review equipment design and fabrication to ensure project scope, customer requirements, equipment cost, and profitability are met. Additionally, the role involves determining improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios, managing equipment selection software, collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing technical information and training to customers, managing multiple stakeholders, supporting management with KPI data, and maintaining professional knowledge through continuous learning and networking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Two (2) years of engineering experience in the design, development and sales of rotor-based dehumidification systems for low dew point applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineered solutions and technical and project management support in the application, design and selection of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment to support Munters' climate control, dehumidification, volatile organic compound and carbon capture.
  • Provide project management support for Commercial desiccant dehumidification projects from inception to shipment.
  • Provide engineered solutions and applications and product support to key customers, Regional Sales Managers and representatives.
  • Gain a comprehension of customer design requirements through the review of specifications, drawings and customer interface to develop designed solutions and equipment selections.
  • Use Munters software programs such as Genesys, MRC, WebDH and Impact in the selection of equipment and systems.
  • Optimize equipment value and performance by reviewing key operating parameters.
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, specifications, plans and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Develop equipment/ project scope definition and "turnover" documentation to engineering and production for manufacturing the equipment.
  • Follow through and review equipment design and fabrication to ensure project scope and customer requirements are met.
  • Follow through and review of equipment design and fabrication to ensure equipment cost and profitability are met.
  • Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, suppliers, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
  • Manage equipment selection software distribution, updates and technical support.
  • Confer, cooperate and communicate with cross-functional teams throughout the company.
  • Develop customer's knowledge by providing technical information and training.
  • Work closely with and manage multiple stakeholders throughout sales and manufacturing cycle.
  • Support management with providing and reviewing data to support KPls.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
