About The Position

Methods Machine Tools, established in 1958, is one of North America's largest privately owned machine tool importers. The company designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. With over 300 employees and nine technology centers, Methods has installed more than 40,000 machines across North America. The Applications Engineer will utilize state-of-the-art CNC EDM machines and software to deliver EDM application solutions to customers nationwide.

Requirements

• Wire EDM programming and operation experience.
• Familiarity with machining operations.
• Experience with precision measurement equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with both co-workers and customers
• EDM Machining Experience (5 years minimum)
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in EDM applications engineering required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Design experience and development of programmed applications highly preferred.
• Prior experience with Fanuc controls is highly preferred.
• Prior experience with CAM-I is highly preferred; experience with Mastercam or Esprit a plus

Responsibilities

• Time studies, process recommendations and work holding concepts.
• Demonstrating EDM equipment on new and existing applications.
• Machining customer parts to show machine capabilities.
• Training of customers at Method’s facilities and customer facilities nationwide.
• Programming of customer parts on CNC machines.
• Debugging and setting up of complete machine tool turnkey systems.
• Managing tasks to a specific timeline and meeting delivery dates.
