Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Experience in electric drafting of wiring diagrams
  • Proficient in reading technical specifications
  • Proficient in power electronics and programmable logic
  • Able to effectively communicate formally to customers
  • Ability to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to multitask
  • Reflect a certain degree of creativity and latitude for problem-solving and decision making

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, design, modify, and draft electronic circuitry of devices for elevator control systems
  • Coordinate with software engineers to provide a complete modification package considering hardware/software compatibility mismatch
  • Provide continuous engineering support for the technical support staff
  • Evaluate product data and provide replacement options
  • Understand and apply electrical and safety codes
  • Estimate project price and lead time
  • Communicate with all production-based inter-company departments to ensure modification packages are designed to minimize field installation labor
  • A modification package can consist of the following: Copies of revised job prints with highlighting denoting changes to guide customers through installation. May require additional written instructions for more complex revisions
  • Create a complete bill of materials (BOM) and provide instructions to route modification package to all appropriate production departments.
  • Provide documentation for board layout changes, input/output distribution and cable connections
