About The Position

AVL Test Systems Inc is seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical engineering and customer liaison support services for engine and electrified powertrain test systems integration, development, commissioning, and troubleshooting. This role involves working with mechanical infrastructure, battery, e-motor, and emission measurement systems. Responsibilities include commissioning test cells, high-speed data acquisition systems, and driver robots for vehicle testing; implementing and tuning control loops; integrating simulation models and auxiliary equipment; creating commissioning documentation; reviewing test bed data acquisition automation software; servicing, troubleshooting, and calibrating industrial drives, dynamometers, and measurement devices; writing scripts for process automation; and providing customer training.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related field
5 years of experience in job duties

Responsibilities

Provide technical engineering and customer liaison support services for engine and electrified powertrain test systems integration, development, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Work with mechanical infrastructure, battery, e-motor, and emission measurement systems.
Commission test cells, high-speed data acquisition systems, and driver robots for vehicle testing.
Implement and tune control loops.
Integrate simulation models and auxiliary equipment into test systems.
Create commissioning documentation.
Conduct test bed data acquisition automation software review of test cycles and screens for test systems.
Service, troubleshoot, and calibrate industrial drives, dynamometers, and measurement and conditioning devices.
Write scripts to automate custom processes.
Provide training to customers on system applications.
