About The Position

Acuity, Inc. seeks an Application Engineer (Databricks Apps) to design, develop, and support data-driven applications that combine React + TypeScript front-end interfaces with Databricks-powered data services. This role delivers user-facing applications that expose analytics, workflows, and data products in a secure and scalable manner. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing and supporting software applications
  • Strong experience with React and TypeScript for frontend development
  • Experience integrating applications with APIs and backend data services
  • Experience working with Databricks, Spark, or cloud-based data platforms
  • Experience with Python or similar backend integration technologies
  • Experience designing scalable, secure application architectures
  • Experience troubleshooting performance and integration issues
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain U.S. suitability

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building data-driven or analytics applications
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and automated deployments
  • Experience with AWS and cloud-native services
  • Experience supporting advanced analytics or machine learning use cases
  • Experience with data governance and secure data access patterns
  • Experience supporting federal or regulated environments

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop React + TypeScript applications that interface with Databricks-backed data services
  • Build user-facing applications that expose analytics, workflows, and data products
  • Develop backend integration using Databricks APIs, jobs, and data pipelines
  • Translate requirements into application architecture, data flows, and UI/UX behavior
  • Integrate applications with data pipelines, APIs, and external systems
  • Optimize application performance across frontend, API, and data layers
  • Implement security, authentication, and access control across application and data layers
  • Support CI/CD, version control, and automated deployment of application components
  • Troubleshoot application, data, and integration issues across environments
  • Maintain documentation for application architecture, interfaces, and workflows
  • Support enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance
