About The Position

CLS is seeking an Application Development Senior Software Engineer (C++) to provide day-to-day support for the development and testing of the USP (Unified Services Platform) Settlement Service applications. This role involves collaborating with various teams including Business Analyst, Infrastructure, Engineering, P&C, and IT Security on aspects like environment requirements analysis, design, capacity planning, and provisioning. The engineer will ensure the functional and non-functional correctness of non-production USP Settlement Services applications, support release, deployment, and monitoring, and help remediate issues in non-production environments. The position also requires collaborating with, guiding, and mentoring onsite and offsite teams, using strong communication skills to improve business processes and support critical business strategies. The role includes providing Level-3 support for USP Settlement Service applications, training and knowledge transfer to Level-2 support teams, and participating in and contributing to changes, enhancements, and requirements. The engineer will also be responsible for acquiring and applying industry standards, best practices, and trends to improve in-house services. Telecommuting may be permitted according to the organization’s hybrid working guidelines. When not telecommuting, the employee must report to CLS US Services, Inc., 101 Wood Ave South, 2nd Floor, Iselin, NJ 08830.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or U.S. equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation/job title/position providing end-to-end pre-production application platform & service support for largescale enterprise-level financial domain applications.
  • 5 years of professional experience providing pre-production support for large-scale enterprise-level financial domain software applications, ensuring environment integrity, functionality, and continuous delivery readiness.
  • 3 years of professional experience developing and executing release and deployment plans, including monitoring, issue remediation, and environment support in a multi-tiered system architecture.
  • 3 years of professional experience utilizing Python or Perl, and Unix shell scripting, SQL, and DBMS, including IBM DB2.
  • 3 years of professional experience utilizing messaging middleware (including IBM MQ or TIBCO EMS) and application servers (including WebSphere or WebLogic).
  • 3 years of professional experience utilizing CI/CD practices and DevOps toolsets (including JIRA, GIT, Ant, Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, Confluence, or ServiceNow).
  • 3 years of professional experience in application software delivery and maintenance within the Financial Services domain.
  • 3 years of professional experience providing level-3 support for production systems, including technical training, knowledge transfer, and escalation support for level-2 teams.
  • 1 year of professional experience proactively identifying and resolving system deficiencies, implementing strategic remediation solutions to enhance operational performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for the development and testing of the USP (Unified Services Platform) Settlement Service applications.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst, Infrastructure, Engineering, P&C, and IT Security teams in various key areas, such as environment requirements analysis, design, capacity planning, and provisioning.
  • Ensure the functional and non-functional correctness, adequacy, and integrity of the non-production USP Settlement Services applications.
  • Provide support for the release, deployment, and monitoring, of the USP Settlement Service applications.
  • Help remediate issues with the USP Settlement Service applications in non-production environments.
  • Collaborate, guide and mentor onsite and offsite teams.
  • Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to improve business processes and support critical business strategies.
  • Provide Level-3 support for the USP Settlement Service applications.
  • Provide training and application knowledge transfer to Level-2 support teams.
  • Participate in, contribute to, and assimilate changes, enhancements, requirements (both functional and non-functional) and requirements traceability.
  • Continually acquire and apply industry standards, best practices, and trends to improve in-house services and practices.
