Requirements

  • College or university degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5–10 years of of hands-on experience in software development
  • 3–5 years of experience leading or managing teams
  • Strong understanding of web technologies and the ability to apply technical knowledge to practical business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into clear priorities and solutions while working effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate clearly, build strong working relationships and operate effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Meet the company’s criminal background check requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PHP, CodeIgniter, Laravel, Python considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing support of enterprise applications in an on-premise environment.
  • Establish and maintain development standards, processes and documentation practices, including source control, code management and knowledge sharing.
  • Apply modern development practices, including Agile approaches, to improve quality, consistency and delivery outcomes.
  • Maintain a secure development environment by ensuring applications and processes support data privacy, security and operational reliability.
  • Hire, coach and develop a high-performing team of developers and systems and database specialists.
  • Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews and support ongoing growth and accountability across the team.
  • Promote cross-training and collaboration to strengthen team resiliency, continuity and shared ownership.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture that aligns with Edge’s values and supports strong working relationships.
  • Partner with business leaders, users and cross-functional teams to understand priorities and translate business needs into clear development plans.
  • Lead requirements discussions, communicate scope, timelines and trade-offs clearly, and support informed decision-making across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support user acceptance testing, implementation readiness and post-launch feedback to help ensure solutions meet agreed business requirements.
  • Own delivery plans and execution timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget and with regular visibility for leadership.
  • Track performance against key delivery objectives and continuously improve processes to support efficient, high-quality outcomes.
  • Contribute as a hands-on leader when needed, with the ability to engage in coding, documentation, testing and deployment activities.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team priorities and business objectives.
