About The Position

As an Application Development Intern, you will work alongside experienced technology professionals to develop and enhance a fast-paced, client-facing application supporting tax-related processes, project management, and client collaboration. You will gain hands-on experience contributing to software solutions that improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and directly affect the client experience. The primary technologies are .NET and C#, React and TypeScript, and Microsoft Azure.

This internship offers mentorship, hands-on training, networking with industry leaders, and an all-expense-paid trip to Ryan headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Tax or accounting experience is not required.

Requirements

• Be working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field of study.
• Have programming coursework or experience building software through class projects, personal projects, open-source contributions, or prior work.
• Have an anticipated graduation date within one year of the internship.
• Have a minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
• Have a minimum of 6–12 technical credit hours, depending on practice.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
• Be able to explain work, ask questions, respond to feedback, and collaborate with teammates.
• Be able to organize tasks, manage ambiguity, and make progress in a fast-moving engineering team.
• Be able to work independently on a defined task and seek guidance when needed.
• Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet navigation and research.
• Have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and enhancing features for a client-facing software application.
• Collaborate with experienced software engineers to build and improve scalable, reliable software solutions.
• Gain exposure to full-stack development, including front-end and back-end technologies.
• Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and testing to improve application performance and user experience.
• Contribute to projects that streamline business processes and enhance the overall client experience.
• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while gaining hands-on experience with real-world software development.
