About The Position

The New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC), a public benefit corporation, aids local governments and other eligible applicants throughout New York State to undertake critical water quality infrastructure projects by providing access to low-cost financing capital, grants, and expert technical assistance. Under the direction and supervision of the Application Developer II, the Application Developer will work in a team environment developing and supporting applications. As a member of a small team of professionals, the incumbent will have the opportunity to be exposed to and take on other assignments in addition to the primary developer role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a computer related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the position
  • 5+ years of programming experience
  • 2+ years of experience in web development using the Microsoft .Net stack
  • Knowledge of OOP and common design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of C# and SQL
  • Knowledge of ORMs such as Entity Framework or Dapper
  • Knowledge of HTML/HTML5 and CSS
  • Knowledge of XML and JSON
  • Experience with GitHub or a similar version control system

Nice To Haves

  • Blazor Server / WASM
  • Knowledge of ASP.NET, MVC
  • Knowledge of JQuery and Javascript
  • Knowledge of web service communication protocols (e.g., SOAP, REST)
  • Experience using commercial UI components (e.g., Telerik, Synfusion)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and extend .Net-based web applications
  • Contribute to other programming projects and teams
  • Application/Framework design
  • Ability to mentor other developers on best practices
  • Evaluate and influence technological decisions related to application frameworks and dependencies
  • Act as a lead for a new application architecture and design
  • Actively participate in all phases of the development lifecycle
