An Application Developer is part of a team that translates client requirements into application features and ensures the timely delivery of fully functional software applications. Application Developers are expected to be responsible for understanding client needs, designing prototypes, writing code, performing testing, and maintaining technical documentation. They are also able to collaborate with teams to set specifications, write high-quality code, conduct testing, and troubleshoot applications. Application Developers must be able to break requirements down into appropriately sized objects, classes or methods that are consistent with the established enterprise architecture. They are also able to review requirements and estimate accurate development hours and schedule costs. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.
