About The Position

The Teachers’ Retirement System of Oklahoma (TRS) is undertaking a significant, multi-year modernization project to replace its existing legacy systems, including the retirement of the ALICE system. This initiative aims to establish a unified, cloud-native environment. WiredPeople is seeking two Senior Full Stack Developers to join the engineering team in developing MyPAS 3.0, a state-of-the-art Azure-hosted pension administration system designed for seamless integration with MyTRS and MyERS. TRS supports a large member base of over 210,000 active members and retirees across more than 600 educational institutions. In this role, developers will utilize a modern technology stack, including Angular 16+, C# .NET, Web APIs, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Function Apps, and Azure DevOps, to construct scalable, secure, and maintainable software critical for state pension operations.

Requirements

  • Proficient in modern .NET core framework development (C# .NET)
  • Hands-on SPA development with Angular 16+, TypeScript, RxJS
  • RESTful Web API Development
  • SQL / Database Development (Query optimization, relational schema design, Azure SQL)
  • Git & Version Control
  • Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, backlog management, work item tracking)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field with 3–5+ years of software development experience (or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience).
  • Strong knowledge of modern application development frameworks, cloud architecture patterns, and secure coding practices.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum software development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with legacy system migration strategies, business process analysis, and functional design principles.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready code with minimal defect rates.
  • Outstanding communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, unit test, review, and maintain web applications and services meeting complex business and technical requirements.
  • Develop RESTful Web APIs, system interfaces, and automated workflows to transition legacy workflows into cloud-native Azure solutions.
  • Participate actively in SDLC processes using Agile methodologies; develop user stories, define acceptance criteria, and maintain a prioritized backlog in Azure DevOps.
  • Submit clean pull requests for TRS staff review, write comprehensive unit tests, and maintain software with minimal technical debt and defects.
  • Collaborate closely with TRS technical architects, business analysts, QA testers, and project managers to translate complex functional requirements into production-ready solutions.
  • Maintain thorough system documentation, adhering to modern secure coding practices and project engineering standards.
