About The Position

Join a pivotal modernization initiative supporting public safety in Fort Worth, TX. As an Application Developer, you will lead the transformation of a complex legacy VB.NET application into a robust, scalable C#/.NET platform. This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment, collaborating with stakeholders at every stage to deliver modern, secure, and maintainable solutions.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, especially modern C# and current .NET versions (up to .NET 10)
• Strong ability to read, troubleshoot, and maintain legacy VB.NET/.NET Framework applications
• Demonstrated success modernizing, refactoring, or replacing legacy enterprise applications, including phased migrations
• Hands-on expertise with: C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML5, jQuery, SSRS, SSIS, RabbitMQ, API/system integrations
• Solid understanding of ASP.NET Core, Dependency Injection, Unit Testing, CI/CD, and async programming

Nice To Haves

• Background in public safety, government, law enforcement, healthcare, finance, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with CAD systems, CentralSquare Technologies, or similar enterprise platforms
• Experience handling sensitive data, implementing security controls, and supporting change management processes

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document existing VB.NET applications, including architecture, dependencies, and business rules
• Design and recommend modern C#/.NET solutions aligned with best practices
• Modernize legacy functionality while preserving critical business requirements and operational stability
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, migration plans, and risk assessments
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to validate requirements and define project scope
• Support modernization efforts in a secure environment with regulatory and compliance considerations
