About The Position

As an Application Developer Sr II, you will design and build software and data solutions that enable advanced clinical insights using modern technologies. You will collaborate with a high-performing Scrum team to deliver innovative capabilities that improve pet health outcomes. This role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work on impactful initiatives using IDEXX’s core clinical data assets. The Clinical Information Services team is focused on developing scalable data, machine learning, and application solutions that drive meaningful insights in veterinary care. You will work alongside software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to deliver industry-leading capabilities. This role plays a critical part in advancing IDEXX’s ability to generate actionable clinical insights that improve animal health worldwide. Your contributions will directly impact how data is leveraged to drive innovation in veterinary medicine, helping clinicians make better decisions and improving outcomes for pets and livestock.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with one or more major cloud providers (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with AWS services (API Gateway, AWS Lambda, SQS, S3)
  • Proficiency with GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • Strong programming skills in Java 17 and Python 3
  • Experience with relational databases (AWS MySQL Aurora)
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and MS Teams
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Snowflake
  • Experience with domain-driven design (DDD)

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement proofs of concept, and develop data pipelines and integrations
  • Contribute to machine learning and application development efforts supporting clinical insights initiatives
  • Participate in business planning as well as technical architecture and infrastructure strategy
  • Innovate across technology, development practices, and team processes
  • Collaborate closely with Architects, Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters across remote teams
  • Work within a Scrum-based Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Mentor and coach junior developers and QA team members
  • Continuously learn new technologies and share knowledge with peers
