About The Position

The Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a dynamic, creative individual to fill a key Application Developer 4 position. In this role, you will serve as technical lead for a team of developers, recruit and train new team members, and serve as a liaison to division leadership. This position will primarily utilize the Microsoft .NET technology stack and SQL Server. To be successful in this position, you will need strong SQL Server, .Net, and cloud development/migration experience, the ability to manage quickly changing priorities, strong analysis skills, and outstanding written and oral communication skills. We are looking for a capable teammate willing to grow and learn as they meet our organization's needs. The mission of the Department of Health is "to promote and protect the health and well-being of Alaskans”. The Division of Finance and Management Services (FMS) provides financial, administrative, facilities, and technology services to the department.

Requirements

Strong SQL Server experience.
Strong .Net experience.
Strong cloud development/migration experience.
Ability to manage quickly changing priorities.
Strong analysis skills.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for designing, developing, and testing software in a given environment.
Adaptability: Adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.
Computer Languages: Knowledge of computer languages and their applications to enable a system to perform specific functions and skill in designing, writing, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and maintaining the source code of computer programs.
Customer/Quality Focus: Anticipates, monitors, and meets the needs of customers and responds to them in an effective, appropriate manner. Demonstrates commitment to identifying customers’ apparent and underlying needs and continually seeks to provide the highest quality service and product to all customers.
Project Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
Training in computer science or system analysis and/or progressively responsible professional experience analyzing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining computer applications.
