Application Color Scientist - Erlanger, KY
About The Position
The individual holding this position is required to have working knowledge of Color Applications in Food and Beverage applications, specifically with Colors Exempt from Certification (commonly known as Natural Colors), including common knowledge of raw materials and ingredients used in their creation. Also, a strong understanding of formulation trouble-shooting and stability protocol for color and finished products is expected. The areas of knowledge should include: Product Development, Broad Color Portfolio, Powders and Powder Blends, Applications across Food and Beverage (Pet Food a plus), and Commercialization from Bench-Top to Production-Scale. Prior experience with Color Applications is required. The successful candidate should have strong presentation skills and the ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Color Applications in Food and Beverage applications, specifically with Colors Exempt from Certification (commonly known as Natural Colors)
- Common knowledge of raw materials and ingredients used in their creation
- Strong understanding of formulation trouble-shooting and stability protocol for color and finished products
- Knowledge of Product Development
- Knowledge of Broad Color Portfolio
- Knowledge of Powders and Powder Blends
- Knowledge of Applications across Food and Beverage (Pet Food a plus)
- Knowledge of Commercialization from Bench-Top to Production-Scale
- Prior experience with Color Applications is required
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers
- BS/MS (Science) with 5+ yrs’ color science experience; PhD with 3+ yrs’ color science experience outside of academia
- Successful completion of a background check

Responsibilities
- Responsible for testing color formulations across all food & beverage applications (pet food application a plus)
