About The Position

The Application Architect will design scalable, secure application and integration architectures across the enterprise technology landscape, with an emphasis on a Snowflake, Kafka, and AWS data ecosystem and AI-enabled solutions such as RAG pipelines and agentic workflows. The role covers end-to-end architecture, including integration patterns, deployment topology, scalability, resiliency, and security.

The architect will define architecture blueprints, reference patterns, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs); lead architecture reviews; maintain architecture documentation; and present designs to technical and business stakeholders. Solutions must align with banking regulatory and security requirements. The role also includes mentoring engineering teams on design best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years in application or solution architecture, preferably in financial services.
• Strong experience with Snowflake, including Snowpark, Snowpipe, and Streams/Tasks, and with dbt.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka integration architecture.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS, including S3, Lambda, Glue, MSK, and IAM.
• Experience architecting end-to-end data movement, including batch and streaming.
• Practical knowledge of RAG architecture, including vector stores, embeddings, and LLM integration, and agentic workflow design.
• Strong grasp of enterprise integration patterns, microservices, and API design.
• Ability to produce architecture artifacts such as ADRs and diagrams, and communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Banking or financial services experience.
• Familiarity with SOX, PCI-DSS, and GLBA.
• TOGAF, Snowflake (SnowPro Architect), or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end application architecture, including integration patterns, deployment topology, scalability, resiliency, and security.
• Define architecture blueprints, reference patterns, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for enterprise applications.
• Design integration architecture across core banking systems, data platforms, and downstream applications using APIs, event streams, and batch processing.
• Architect data movement using Snowflake native components, including Snowpark, Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, and Dynamic Tables, and use dbt for transformations.
• Design Kafka-based real-time and event-driven integration patterns.
• Architect application and integration solutions on AWS, including S3, Lambda, Glue, MSK, IAM, and API Gateway.
• Architect RAG-based pipelines, including retrieval strategy, vector store integration, and LLM API integration, and design agentic workflow patterns such as tool-calling, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop.
• Lead architecture reviews, enforce standards, and mentor engineering teams on design best practices.
• Maintain architecture documentation, including system diagrams, data flows, and sequence diagrams, and present designs to technical and business stakeholders.
• Ensure solutions align with banking regulatory and security requirements.
