About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Application Architect for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity focused on defining how solutions should be built rather than simply building them. As a member of a small team, you will establish standard models for new Java applications to implement hands-free deployment as a new default process. This includes defining automated CI/CD processing, smoke testing, approvals, and production release strategies.

Requirements

Experience with CI/CD processes and tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, OpenShift)
Experience deploying and releasing small to complex Java applications
Experience with Java-based applications, containers, and VM deployments
Experience with automation coordination execution tools
Familiarity with the complexities of database and configuration transition and traffic management during release
Automated validation and testing experience
Experience with both blue/green and canary style releases
Experience with Python
Must be well-spoken and able to plan and initiate positive engagements with multiple teams

Nice To Haves

Java application development experience
Experience in Production Support, Performance Testing, Functional Test Automation, or Database Management

Responsibilities

Define and implement models for hands-free Java application releases
Establish a set of standard models for new Java applications to implement hands-free deployment
Work with various teams to uncover and document requirements and issues
Formulate standard patterns and processes for automated releases
