About The Position

Reporting to the Inpatient Clinical or Ambulatory Manager, this individual will provide application system support and be responsible for collaborating independently with systems business/clinical management. They will serve as technical resources to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve system needs. This role involves using use cases, workflows, and metrics to configure, maintain, and monitor system use. The individual will also provide suggestions for potential application modifications, enhancements, or business process changes, including metrics and KPIs designed to monitor performance in achieving SLAs, adhering to processes, and timely data recording. This position requires strong knowledge of IS processes and software application support. The Applications Analyst III works independently, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks. Days and hours worked may be variable.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Information Sciences or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • De-escalation training, if applicable
  • Five years operational experience in clinical or healthcare, business or operation setting OR Minimum of Five (5) years of functional and/or systems analysis and reporting
  • Complete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed education.
  • Strong knowledge IS processes as well as software application support.
  • Strong knowledge on health care operations and the application of information technology to aid and improve health care functions.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of IS internal department processes as well as software application support.
  • Require little to no supervision and collaborate independently with IS management.
  • Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the business management.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships and education.
  • Strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities.
  • Uses critical thinking skills regarding use of the clinical / business operations software applications.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem resolution.
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • EPIC certification in the module(s) being represented
  • Experience in EMR installations

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development and design of the application(s) for which there is an in-depth knowledge required of the assigned system.
  • Develop functional specifications and operational process flows, department procedures, business requirements, or other necessary documentation for approved system enhancements or modifications.
  • Provide Technical resource to identify, analyze, prioritize and resolve system needs.
  • Able to use cases, work flows and metrics to configure, maintain and monitor system use.
  • Provides suggestions for potential application modifications, enhancements or business process changes as appropriate as well as advising business and technical counterparts regarding current system functionality.
  • Produce and provide analysis through reports, dashboards, and analytic tools to management.
  • Develop Metrics and KPI's designed to monitor the performance of management and staff in achieving SLA's, adhering to process and the timely recording of pertinent data.
  • Communicates effectively with users, colleagues, and developers.
  • Provides estimates for moderate to complex work efforts.
  • Supports multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules, educates and coaches other team members and manages user expectations.
  • Manages tasks, resources, and project plans for team assignments.
