Application Admin II - (Engineering Application/CAD Systems)
About The Position
HR Green is hiring a senior Application Administrator to serve as the primary administrator and technical lead for its engineering design and GIS platforms, including Autodesk, Bentley, and Esri, as well as a broad portfolio of desktop, web, and business applications across virtual and physical workstations. The role keeps the engineering application environment reliable so engineers, planners, and surveyors can deliver client work on schedule. The position is a technical IT role, not a CAD or drafting role. It partners with CAD, BIM, and GIS managers, who own design standards and content, to package, deploy, and technically support those standards. The administrator also builds and maintains application packaging and deployment automation, administers licenses, acts as the primary technical contact with engineering software vendors, and handles escalated application issues. Regular evening and weekend maintenance windows and participation in the IT on-call rotation are expected.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Four or more years in application administration, technical support, or IT operations, including hands-on production support of engineering design (CAD/BIM) or GIS applications.
- Experience in application packaging, deployment automation, and endpoint-management tools in virtual desktop and physical workstation environments.
- Working knowledge of engineering software licensing models and license-manager administration.
- Experience managing vendor support cases through to resolution.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
- Valid driver's license, ability to travel to regional offices, and availability for regular evening and weekend deployment windows and an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the escalation point for complex application issues across engineering, productivity, and business applications, resolving them or driving them to resolution with vendors.
- Lead operational support of CAD/BIM and GIS platforms, including version standardization, deployment of CAD-manager-developed workspaces and standards, add-in compatibility, and performance on virtual and physical engineering workstations.
- Design, build, test, and maintain application packages and deployment automation, and test updates and patches before production release.
- Administer license managers and licensing portals, monitor utilization and compliance, and align licensing with project staffing needs.
- Implement application monitoring, identify recurring failures, and drive permanent fixes and automation.
- Mentor the Application Administrator I and Service Desk staff.
- Maintain documentation and the knowledge base to keep support consistent across offices.
- Serve as the primary technical contact with engineering software vendors.
- Participate in regular evening and weekend deployment and maintenance windows and the IT on-call rotation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
