  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Willingness to invest in basic hand tools and specialized testing equipment over time.

  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures using multi-meters, leak detectors, and manufacturer-specific software.
  • Learn to repair and replace components in laundry equipment (washers/dryers), kitchen appliances (ranges, ovens, dishwashers), and specialized systems like microwaves and trash compactors.
  • Under supervision, recover refrigerants, evacuate systems, and recharge units in refrigerators and freezers (compliant with environmental regulations).
  • Assist in the safe installation and repair of water intake lines, drainage systems, and gas-fired appliance components.
  • Document parts used, maintain inventory on the service vehicle, and ensure your Apprentice Logbook is updated and signed off regularly.

Benefits

  • Supervised Hours: Guaranteed mentorship to ensure your on-the-job training requirements are met.
  • Exam Prep: Access to technical manuals and mentorship to help you prepare for your Interprovincial exam.
  • Mobility: Once certified, your RSE status allows you to work anywhere in Canada without further examination.
