Appliance Delivery and Installation Associate
About The Position
Ferguson Installation Associates deliver, install, and remove a variety of appliances in commercial and residential settings. This role includes delivery and driver duties, basic appliance installation, and the opportunity to learn custom installations through company-paid training. Associates ensure appliances are undamaged, correctly installed to manufacturer specifications, and fully functional, while providing courteous, high-quality service to builders, designers, and on-site customers. The position is based in the field in Grimes, Iowa. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with overtime needed. Starting pay is $23 per hour or more depending on experience. Pre-employment drug and background screening is required.
Requirements
- A valid state-issued license is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one.
- With lifting equipment assistance, must be able to lift objects weighing 70+ pounds frequently and 90+ pounds occasionally.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deliver white-glove service.
- Mechanical skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must complete pre-employment drug and background screening.
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of experience with appliance delivery and installation service is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic appliance installations and develop skills in custom appliance installations through provided training.
- Accurately handle and install basic gas and electric household appliances, including washers, dryers, ranges, and refrigerators.
- Ensure installed appliances are damage-free, installed according to manufacturer specifications, and fully functioning.
- Interact expertly and courteously with builders, designers, and on-site customers.
- Attend company-paid installation training seminars and certifications to stay current on product changes.
- Perform driver duties and responsibilities.
