About The Position

The Apparel Supervisor Level I supervises and coordinates the activities of sewing machine operators assembling articles. This position carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Applying basic arithmetic calculations, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that daily production quotas are met.
  • Ensures that quality products are produced.
  • Completes documentation and reports as outlined in the quality assurance plan. This includes attendance, payroll, and production reports.
  • Reports production and mechanical issues to the Supervisor.
  • Attends training meetings as assigned.
  • Meets the 3-hour per year requirement of training/staff development.
  • Utilizes a teamwork approach for all projects.
  • Supports ISO-9000 and Quality Management Systems requirements.
  • Promote vision, value, culture, and commitment to excellent customer service to all customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Assists with training people with or without disabilities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Directly supervises workers/participants in the Apparel Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
