About The Position

NIKE, Inc. is seeking an Apparel Designer II for its Global Football team. This role involves creating futuristic, innovative designs that align with Nike's design philosophy and advance the future of Global Football. The designer will respond to business objectives with creative solutions based on athlete and consumer insights, bringing seasonal creative direction to life through apparel design. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Global Football, a passion for the Nike brand, and a curiosity for craft, innovation, performance apparel, and sport culture. This role requires strong communication, collaboration, big-picture thinking, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of product relevance, positioning, timing, and collection-based design. The position also involves collaborative problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and ownership in executing accurate design assets while communicating ideas clearly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or related design field or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
  • Minimum 1-4 years of relevant work experience in Apparel/Fashion design.
  • Passion and understanding of current and emerging design trends and visual culture.
  • Passion for researching and analyzing trends across sport, youth and culture, and the ability to unpack key opportunities for Nike products.
  • Ability translating insights into authentic narratives, and visual storytelling in presentations & communication.
  • Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Proficient in sketching, illustration, typography, print and pattern, color theory and layout.
  • Knowledge of apparel product creation.
  • Digital design acumen in Adobe CC Suite.
  • Comfortable working with Digital Creation 3D Tools (CLO) and AI.
  • Ability to embrace diverse points of view while fostering an environment of inclusivity.
  • Passion for empowering our Athletes/Teams and making their dreams come true.
  • Submission of a creative design portfolio (website links or PDF file) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design innovative product under the direction of the Design Director, creating original concepts that meet athlete needs and reflect Nike’s design philosophy.
  • Help create and support the future of the Global Football Apparel category, focusing on performance-driven product and apparel solutions that connect sport and culture.
  • Translate athlete and consumer insights into innovative design solutions.
  • Develop concepts from ideation through prototype, working closely with development, materials, and testing partners.
  • Build and communicate clear design narratives through presentations and visual storytelling.
  • Monitor prototype development to ensure design intent is executed with quality and accuracy.
  • Stay connected to sport, culture, and emerging trends to inform relevant and future-forward product.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure feasibility of designs, meet price points, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines.
