About The Position
Carilion Clinic is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join the mental health team at Carilion St. Albans Hospital. This position offers a schedule of day/evening shift; Monday - Friday. St. Albans is dedicated to meeting the behavioral and mental health needs of patients in a supportive, team-based environment. The program includes a 36-bed inpatient behavioral health unit as well as a thriving outpatient practice, providing a strong continuum of psychiatric care. As an APP, you will work as an integral member of a collaborative behavioral health team and report to the Section Chief. You will have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients, contribute to individualized treatment plans, and work alongside experienced behavioral health professionals committed to improving patients' quality of life. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Nurse Practitioners must also hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
- Must be eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or Nursing, and applicable certifying bodies.
- Must meet practice and managed care credentialing requirements and qualify for malpractice insurance coverage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer systems required.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Additional experience may be required based on specialty.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required as appropriate to the position.
