About The Position

Vertical Relevance is looking for an AWS App Modernization Consultant to join their team as a full-time employee. This role can be based in their New York or New Jersey office, or be remote. The consultant will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, building, and deploying of software systems, with a focus on driving the programming of well-constructed, testable code. In this role, the consultant will implement technical solutions for customer engagements, requiring strong teamwork, communication, patience, and organization skills to ensure customer success. Vertical Relevance emphasizes delivering with excellence through teamwork, automation, continuous learning, and taking ownership of customer outcomes.

Requirements

Professional experience architecting/operating full-stack business/consumer/corporate web and mobile applications built on AWS.
Core technical skills: Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Devops/TFS, EC2, Lambda, S3, AWS networking, .NET, IIS, MS SQL Server, Java, Apache Tomcat, SNS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch.
Experience in software/technology architecture with customer-facing experience.
Experience with Java or C++ or C#.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Optional technical skills: SageMaker, Glue, Firehose, Hashicorp Vault, Dynatrace, Snowflake.

Responsibilities

Help customers shape their journey to adopting the cloud and provide technical and strategic guidance.
Consult, plan, design, and implement cloud-native application solutions with customers.
Review existing customer application full-stack architectures and propose iterative improvements towards cloud-native architecture.
Code, test, and deploy refinements in customer applications.
Build and deploy infrastructure and automate operations for customers.
Become a deep technical resource that earns customer trust.
Develop high-quality technical content such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers.
Innovate on behalf of customers and translate thoughts into action yielding measurable results.
Support solution development by conveying customer needs and feedback for technology roadmaps.
Share real-world implementation challenges and recommend expansion of capabilities through enhanced and new offerings.
Assist with technical briefs that document solutions.
Assist with reference architecture implementations.
Support internal and external brand development through thought leadership, including writing blog posts and developing internal case studies with Marketing/Alliances.
