About The Position

Health First is looking for an experienced NP or PA to join our night team in the ICU at Holmes Regional. You’ll be a true clinical partner to our Nocturnal Intensivists, managing high-acuity patients and handling the full scope of critical care! You’ll be the frontline for the unit working collaboratively with the Intensivist. This includes managing clinical status changes, responding to in-house emergencies, and handling ICU admissions. You’ll also be responsible for managing downgrades to ensure the unit flows efficiently. Since this is a high-acuity setting, you should be comfortable performing or learning critical care procedures as they come up.

Requirements

  • Florida-licensed (or eligible) APP.
  • National certification (ACNP or PA-C).
  • BLS/ACLS.
  • Minimum of Master Degree in the Science of Nursing.
  • Current APRN license or endorsement permit.
  • Completion of APRN protocols within first 90 days of employment, and maintain bi-annual renewal updates.
  • Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
  • Participation in a minimum of one professional conference and completion of a minimum of 15 continuing education units per year.
  • Demonstrates strength in leadership, multitasking, autonomy, entrepreneurial and public relation skills.
  • Must be able to pass colorblind testing to perform POC test requiring color change.

  • Spent time in an ICU or high-acuity environment.
  • Comfortable making decisions when things get busy.
  • Likes the autonomy of night shifts but knows how to communicate effectively with the attending and the nursing staff.
