About The Position

RateHawk is part of Emerging Travel Group, a travel-tech company with brands like ZenHotels and Roundtrip, operating in over 220 markets. Their mission is to create, distribute, and operate convenient travel products through innovation. As an API Optimization Manager, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth integration and optimal performance of API solutions for partners. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external clients. This is a remote position open to candidates in Brazil.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in the travel industry.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end process of API optimization.
  • Experience managing RESTful and/or SOAP APIs.
  • Strong understanding of JSON, XML, and API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Experience with travel technology integrations, including GDS, NDC, CRS, PMS, Channel Managers, and OTA connectivity.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, New Relic, or Kibana.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing technical vendor relationships and cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Fluent English, Spanish or Portuguese is desired, other languages are a plus.
  • Up to 40% of travel time may be required.
  • Used to data-driven decision-making, metrics-driven and good with numbers.

  • Ability to understand and work across a wide range of cultural contexts reflecting ETG’s global presence.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor commercial and technical metrics for partners to ensure constant improvements.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Bans, Search & Booking Timeouts, Mapping Assessment, and Error Rates.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of metrics to identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Formulate conclusive insights and actionable recommendations to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Report identified issues to relevant internal teams (Product, API Support, Pricing, etc.) to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication channels to facilitate prompt issue resolution.
  • Foster the development of new features in the market.
  • Scale new features for quick implementation by clients, ensuring they derive maximum benefit from our solutions.
  • Work closely with the commercial teams to ensure client KPIs are met.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve the performance of top clients.
  • Identify technical gaps in a client's integration.
  • Collaborate with clients to resolve integration issues and enhance their API usage experience.
  • Spend approximately 40% of your working time on business trips, including meetings with clients, industry events, and other business-related events.
