API 570 Inspector with Rope Access - Port Arthur, TX

About The Position

The API 570 Inspector with Rope Access performs visual inspections and various non-destructive examinations at heights, under the direction of a Project Manager or Team Leader, or independently. The role is part of Intertek’s Asset Integrity Management team, which supports infrastructure, facilities, and equipment throughout their life cycles with inspection, engineering, and asset management services.

Requirements

Current API 570 certification.
At least 5 years of experience.
Current SPRAT or IRATA certification at Level I, II, or III.
Valid TWIC card.
Excellent computer and organizational skills.
Self-motivated and driven.
Ability to apply examination criteria in accordance with applicable standards, specifications, procedures, and job scopes, and evaluate test results.
Ability to maintain communication with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors.
Ability to solve technical issues in the field.

Nice To Haves

Additional certifications.
NDE and drafting background.
CUI experience.
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
Ability to provide clear technical guidance to other technicians and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

Prepare inspection reports and document data clearly and on time.
Maintain a climbing logbook according to SPRAT/IRATA guidelines.
Interface with clients on technical matters involving inspection procedures and capabilities.
Maintain a professional appearance when interacting with clients and coworkers.
Stay informed about developments in API-certified inspection that may apply to the business.
Follow technology advancements in the NDE and rope access industries.
Apply examination criteria according to applicable standards, specifications, procedures, and job scopes, and evaluate test results.
Maintain open communication with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors.
Provide clear technical guidance to technicians and subcontractors.
Solve technical issues in the field.
