Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • BMT, Oncology, Vascular Access, Dialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after apheresis procedures.
  • Perform therapeutic apheresis and cellular collection procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor apheresis equipment throughout procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment alarms and operational issues to ensure successful treatment or collection completion.
  • Assess and monitor patients for adverse reactions and intervene appropriately.
  • Accurately document patient care, procedures, outcomes, and required data in the EMR.
  • Complete all required collection and regulatory documentation, including NMDP paperwork when applicable.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Perform daily equipment checks, verifications, quality control activities, and required documentation.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, obtain needed materials, and communicate purchasing needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, laboratory staff, and other healthcare team members to support patient care and collection goals.
  • Participate in quality improvement, competency, and continuing education activities.
