Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from accredited program
  • Current certification (AANP/AANC and NCCPA)
  • Five or more years of clinical practice experience
  • Valid DEA required
  • Two or more years proven experience leading/managing providers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the Market Leadership team and ensures assigned market deliverables are implemented in an effective and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain a collegial relationship with other APCs and physicians (employed and contracted) to support the business efforts of the organization. Ensures clinical and enterprise communication is disseminated to their healthcare providers in the clinic, region, market in the spirit of transparency across all aspects of our business.
  • Conducts and directs standardized, functional Patient Care Coordination (PCC) meetings and ensures patient information is disseminated to APCs and patient care staff to ensure appropriate patient care is being delivered.
  • Oversee standardized, functional Patient Care Coordination (PCC) meetings and other clinic specific population management meetings and ensure patient information is disseminated to clinicians to ensure appropriate patient care is being delivered.
  • Drives improvement of quality indicators in all pillars (Care & Value, QRA, Growth/Marketing, Patient Experience) by identifying, directing, and executing continuous improvement activities or processes.
  • Overseas and manages a team (or teams) of APCs as well as provide leadership and mentoring in the establishment of departmental objectives related to staffing plans, financial goals, etc. Where required, (i.e. Texas Board of Nursing) prescriptive authority for APC’s must still delegate via a physician through a collaborative practice or prescriptive authority agreement. The position provides administrative supervision and leadership under supervision of a medical doctor. It is no designed to provide clinical oversight of patient care. Clinical care oversight is the responsibility of a licensed physician.
  • Ensures APC compliance with federal and state regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Performs annual evaluations of the APCs and mentors/takes part in leadership development of APCs throughout the year.
  • Participates in OptumHealth South Region and Third-Party Payer Committees as deemed necessary by business needs. Engaged in community involvement (medical or community boards).
  • Collaborates with Market Operations and Provider Relations staff in the market(s).
  • Assists in the identification of potential practice acquisitions in assigned market.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
