About The Position
ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc., a nonprofit organization founded in 1977, provides community-based services to correctional clients transitioning back into their communities after release. The organization aims to be a leader in offering alternatives to traditional incarceration. This part-time Apartment Monitor role involves providing community-based services to correctional clients in a transitional living program. The position is responsible for monitoring the supervised apartment and its residents, who are offenders on supervision with the Department of Corrections.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Access to his/her own vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with staff, clients, and other parties in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Strong decision making abilities and self-motivated.
- Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year experience and/or education relating to corrections, community based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement.
- 1 year of experience with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent.
Responsibilities
- Receive day to day direction and assignments from the Case Manager.
- Report any known or possible client violations and safety/security concerns to the appropriate party in a timely manner.
- Monitor client whereabouts and location security during designated periods and shifts.
- Complete and maintain activity records and other required information.
