About The Position

ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc., a nonprofit, is seeking part-time Apartment Monitors to provide community-based services to correctional clients after their release and transition back to their home community. This role involves monitoring clients residing in a transitional living program, who are offenders on supervision with the Department of Corrections. The typical work schedule is 2-3 hours per week, with hours needed on weekdays and weekends. The position offers the opportunity to help others and be part of an organization that has been providing services since 1977.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Access to his/her own vehicle.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
• Ability to travel frequently.
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with staff, clients, and other parties in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong decision making abilities and self-motivated.
• Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year experience and/or education relating to corrections, community based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement preferred.
• 1 year of experience with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent.

Responsibilities

• Receive day to day direction and assignments from the Case Manager.
• Report any known or possible client violations and safety/security concerns to the appropriate party in a timely manner.
• Monitor client whereabouts and location security during designated periods and shifts.
• Complete and maintain activity records and other required information.
