About The Position

Sound Generations is a non-profit organization serving older adults and people with disabilities in King County. The mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age their way. They are seeking an Apartment Manager to join their Facilities team in Seattle, Washington. This role oversees the administrative operations of a 25-unit low-income apartment building.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in property management, leasing or a related field.
  • Proficiency in basic accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Address tenant complaints promptly and professionally, maintain positive relationships, and promote a welcoming community.
  • Address and resolve tenant misconduct and noncompliance with the lease agreement, which may include gathering documentation, verbal warnings, written notices, and initiating eviction.
  • Manage apartment vacancies, show units, screen applicants, and process lease paperwork to maintain full occupancy.
  • Collect and record rent payments, issue receipts, and follow up on late payments in accordance with established policies.
  • Communicate maintenance needs and required repairs to the Facilities Manager, ensuring upkeep and safety of the property.
  • Maintain compliance with HUD regulations and local city requirements, ensure proper documentation, and support audits as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant information, rent payments, and expenses.
  • Gather, collate, and analyze data.
  • Create and distribute reports.
