About The Position

CAPREIT is seeking a dedicated and organized Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City View apartment community in Nashville, Tennessee. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the physical aspects of the community meet CAPREIT's standards and applicable laws, responding to resident service requests, and assisting with community upkeep and preventative maintenance.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of apartment maintenance experience
• A valid CFC with Type I and II or with Universal certification is required
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to respond to on-call emergencies, when needed
• Ability to provide your own basic tools
• Computer literacy skills
• A high school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace individual heating and A/C units, water heaters, appliances, plumbing and electrical systems, asphalt, building interiors and exteriors, drainage systems, remodeling carpentry, and cleaning for the community.
• Respond to and complete service requests in a timely manner, notifying the manager if service requests cannot be completed within 24 hours.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures by operating power equipment and tools as recommended and wearing protective equipment when necessary.
• Assist with grounds and housekeeping, removing trash and litter, painting and performing exterior repairs, replacing interior and exterior light bulbs, performing apartment inspections, and any other tasks as needed.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently.
• Maintain the inventory of supplies, tools and equipment.
• Distribute notices and interact with residents, prospective residents, and vendors in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.
