About The Position

AIR Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work onsite at their apartment community in Garner, NC. This role utilizes industry-leading technology for a modern approach to maintenance, allowing technicians to assist residents efficiently. Responsibilities include preparing apartments for new residents (turns) and resolving service requests for current residents, with daily challenges and opportunities for problem-solving.

Requirements

At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment.
Proficient skills in at least two technical trades (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
A reliable mode of transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
Comfort with physical activity as you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
Complete basic apartment turns to prepare apartments for new residents.
Complete resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing/replacing plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances.
May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians.
May assist with managing vendor quality.
May perform move-in/move-out inspections.
Responsibilities vary based on team member skillset and community needs, mechanical systems, and season.
