About The Position

AIR Communities is seeking an Apartment Apprentice Technician for Amara Metrowest, a 411-unit community in Orlando, FL. This role utilizes industry-leading technology for a modern approach to maintenance, focusing on apartment turns and resolving resident service requests. The position involves troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances. There may be opportunities to provide direction and training to other technicians, assist with vendor management, and perform inspections. Responsibilities will vary based on skillset, community needs, mechanical systems, and seasonality.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience, preferably in facilities or building environment.
  • Proficient skills in at least two technical trades (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
  • A reliable mode of transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
  • Comfort with physical activity as you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
  • Complete basic apartment turns to ensure a perfect move-in experience for new residents.
  • Complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing/replacing plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances.
  • May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians.
  • May assist with managing vendor quality.
  • May perform move-in/move-out inspections.
