AP Microeconomics & AP Macroeconomics In-Home Tutor
About The Position
Top Score Education is seeking a part-time, 1-on-1, in-home high school tutor in Northern Virginia, DC, or Maryland to teach AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics. The ideal candidate will have past experience teaching or tutoring AP Economics, with a proven track record in these subjects. Experience with AP Statistics, AP Calculus, or related high school social sciences and math courses is a plus. The role involves delivering customized academic planning and targeted instruction, conducting private lessons in students' homes, analyzing complex economic models, and maintaining communication with parents and students.
Requirements
- Proven track record tutoring or teaching AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics.
- Bachelor's degree required (Economics, Finance, Applied Mathematics, or Education degrees preferred).
- Highly focused, organized, detail-oriented, with sharp time management skills.
- Commitment to following established instructional processes.
- Fast, consistent, clear, and direct communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous student, tutor, and team collaboration.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- A minimum weekly commitment of 8 teaching hours (e.g., 1–2 weekday evenings and one weekend day).
- Consistent access to a car and a willingness to drive up to 30 minutes to a lesson.

Responsibilities
- Deliver customized academic planning and targeted instruction for AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics.
- Conduct 60–120 minute private, individual lessons in students' homes (weekdays 4:00 PM–10:00 PM, and/or weekends).
- Graph, analyze, and break down complex economic models, formulas, and concepts into clear, actionable lessons.
- Develop and maintain genuine, positive, and consistent communication with parents and students regarding academic progress.
