About The Position

The Receptionist for Building 29 serves as the primary point of contact for employees, visitors, and callers, providing professional phone support, routing inquiries, and managing incoming mail and documents. This role ensures smooth daily operations by directing requests to the appropriate departments, maintaining accurate message handling, and supporting Building 29 teams with tasks such as copying, sorting, and collating materials. The Receptionist also helps applicants and staff complete required forms and coordinates lunch breaks and time‑off schedules with other administrative staff to maintain consistent coverage.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and current office equipment.
  • Working skills in typing, data entry and use of office equipment and systems such as postal meter and scale, photocopiers, PCs and software, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to format reports and data for administrative management of resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn operation of office equipment as updated or upgraded.
  • Working knowledge of standard English grammar, punctuation, and usage.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with staff and public harmoniously.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, assemble, and maintain information for logs and reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a switchboard operator.
  • Prior experience in a government, healthcare, or multi-department setting.
