About The Position

The AOG Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing defects on non-scheduled maintenance, completing all return to service paperwork, and maintaining an at-ready status for dispatch. This role provides AOG recovery support when needed and coordinates daily with the Maintenance Control Department regarding DMIs and Advisory Notices. The technician will assist in troubleshooting and initiating corrective actions, maintain contact with Maintenance Control on assignment progress, and forward repair information. Collaboration with Technical Services, Engineering, or other assigned departments is required for defect repair. The role also involves providing technical support to maintenance personnel, monitoring aircraft systems for chronic discrepancies, and performing other duties as directed by the Manager of Maintenance Control.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years aircraft maintenance experience on Kalitta Air fleet types
• FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate
• Individual must be organized and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Must have US Passport
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.

Nice To Haves

• Some college and/or technical school desirable.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair defects of non-scheduled maintenance and complete all return to service paperwork.
• Maintain an at-ready status and be prepared for dispatch to a given assignment. Provide AOG recovery support when needed.
• Coordinate on a daily basis with the Maintenance Control Department regarding all current DMIs and Advisory Notices. Provide assistance in troubleshooting and initiating corrective actions for these items.
• Maintain contact with Maintenance Control regarding progress of the current assignment.
• Forward copies of repair information to Maintenance Control as work is completed. Send original paperwork to Aircraft Records.
• Coordinate with Technical Services, Engineering, or any assigned department in an effort to repair defects.
• Provide technical support to all maintenance personnel when needed, e.g. telephone consultation, research, follow-up, etc.
• Monitor current and historical data for chronic or repetitive discrepancies on aircraft systems.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Manager of Maintenance Control.
