About The Position

The Carlisle Area School District is seeking an Elementary Special Education Autism Support Teacher to join their team at Mooreland Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves working with students with autism in a supportive, collaborative environment. The Autism Support classroom currently serves seven kindergarten-aged students, with a maximum class size of eight. The program is designed for students in grades K-5, but the current classroom is comprised entirely of kindergarten-aged students. The teacher will provide individualized instruction using evidence-based practices, including principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), VB-MAPP, and PEAK programming. Instruction will be guided by student data to support growth in academic, communication, social, behavioral, adaptive, and functional skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement individualized academic, communication, social, behavioral, adaptive, and functional instruction based on student needs and IEP goals.
Utilize evidence-based practices, including ABA principles, VB-MAPP, PEAK programming, structured teaching, visual supports, and positive reinforcement.
Develop high-quality and compliant IEPs and serve as case manager for students on the assigned caseload.
Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and guide instructional decision-making.
Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, related service providers, behavior specialists, and other members of the educational team.
Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals assigned to the Autism Support classroom to promote consistency and student success.
Promote meaningful opportunities for students to participate in the general education environment and school community, as appropriate.
Participate in Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training and utilize approved de-escalation and safety procedures when necessary.
Maintain required documentation and comply with applicable District, state, and federal special education requirements and timelines.
Participate in building and District meetings and professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or District leadership.
