About The Position

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking an electrical engineer with a strong academic background and experience in RF/Microwave system theory and design. This role involves working with architectures, subsystems, components, and Active Electronically Steered Antennas (AESAs). The successful candidate will utilize their knowledge of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and analytical skills in electromagnetic and microwave theory.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
Experience or coursework that includes: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory, Radar Systems, and MATLAB
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test
Hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab
Experience in electrical interconnects and transmission line design
Understanding of EMI analysis and mitigation techniques
Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level

Responsibilities

Design of RF microwave components and phased array applications
Integration and test of component level and system level phased array hardware
Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.
