About The Position

Maine Public is hiring a full-time Announcer/Producer to join a creative team dedicated to delivering independent and trusted journalism and programming! Job tasks include on-air and production work for radio and digital audio, including regularly scheduled and fill-in board operations shifts. Responsibilities include preparing and reading announcements and news, operating radio studio equipment and software systems, and working collaboratively with our Audio Production Manager and other teams on a range of productions and events, including segments such as Poems from Here and Speaking in Maine. With NPR, PBS, and other partners we strive to be the standard bearer for high-integrity journalism and programming. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering information, ideas, and cultural content while having the opportunity to gain valuable experience in programming and production. The successful candidate will be dependable, passionate about audio journalism, and demonstrate a commitment to the mission-driven values of public broadcasting.

Requirements

At least one year of experience as a radio or television announcer
Clear and personable voice with excellent pronunciation and public speaking skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Dependable and reliable

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with digital radio automation and traffic systems and processes
